ISPA’s ROLE IN INDIANA - The ISPA Board of Directors and staff have reimagined ISPA’s role as an organization and how it can best align with our mission to develop, improve, and protect Indiana’s poultry industry. 

2025 ISPA POULTRY DONATION EVENT - On Nov. 20, Gov. Mike Braun, Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith and Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Don Lamb gathered at the Indiana Statehouse with poultry and egg farmers representing the ISPA for the 78th annual Governor’s Poultry Presentation. Over the past year, $620,000 worth of chicken, duck and turkey has been donated to Indiana food banks and community organizations by Indiana poultry producers to help Hoosiers in need. Indiana egg producers have also provided 833,000 dozen eggs to their Hoosier neighbors, with an additional 1 million dozen being distributed across the nation. 2025 ISPA JOHNDREW MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING - The Annual Indiana State Poultry Association Johndrew Memorial Golf Outing was on September 10, 2025. It was a memorable day, full of fun, camaraderie, eating, drinking, and golfing at The Fort Golf Course at Fort Harrison State Park. ISPA ALLIED MEMBERSHIP - ISPA Allied Membership offers the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of poultry production companies. Indiana leads the nation in duck production, is second in the production of egg-laying chickens, third in egg production, fourth in turkey production and has a premium broiler chicken producer. ISPA GOLDEN EGG AWARD - The ISPA Golden Egg Award was established to honor individuals that have gone above and beyond in their service to the poultry industry in the great state of Indiana. The 2025 recipient of the Golden Egg Award was Joseph A. Miller of Rose Acre Farms - congratulations Joe! INDIANA TURKEY MARKET DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL - The Indiana Turkey Market Development Council (TMDC) continued its targeted marketing focus with strategic media use and partnerships. The Council is focused on segmenting and prioritizing the following target audiences: Food Influencer, Rural Consumer, Rising Consumer, and General Indiana Consumer. PURDUE ANIMAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT - The Department of Animal Sciences is the place to go for students interested in learning about animal agriculture. The department offers five different areas of study, multiple hands-on learning opportunities, study abroad experiences, scholarship awards, and support for multiple student organizations. PURDUE ANIMAL DISEASE DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY - The Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Purdue University with locations on the West Lafayette campus and the Southern Indiana Purdue Agriculture Center is gearing up to be the ‘go-to lab’ for veterinary diagnostics and surveillance testing in Indiana. Always ready to respond to high-consequence disease outbreaks and other regulatory disease concerns, the ADDL also provides routine diagnostic testing for animal health and food safety. INDIANA ROOF BALLROOM - The Indiana Roof Ballroom, affectionately called the “Roof,” has been an important part of downtown Indianapolis since 1927 when it first opened its doors. Located above the Indiana Repertory Theatre, it has hosted famous performers, big band dances, fundraisers, weddings and special events for nearly a century. There is a critical need to increase student awareness and understanding of the many opportunities in the poultry industry.
