AUTHORIZED AGENT AI SWAB SCHOOL
The Authorized Agent AI Swab School is designed for Indiana NPIP participant company employees who have have been designated by their company to be Authorized Agent for AI testing poultry during a disease event in Indiana.
This course consists of five videos, downloadable materials and links to external websites. As a participant in this online class, you must watch all the videos, review the downloadable materials and submit the course registration form to acknowledge completion of this course.
For additional onsite field training, you can arrange for the ADDL Poultry Resident to visit your poultry facility, who will review the testing procedure with you and will demonstrate how to do an AI swab test. To initiate a field training visit please contact the Indiana State Poultry Association at 765-494-8517.

You are learning how to perform an essential skill that will be a key part in Indiana’s effort to mitigate the spread of AI during an AI disease incident in Indiana.
DR. MIKE KOPP, DVM DISCUSSES THE NPIP REGULATIONS
In this video, Dr. Mike Kopp, Indiana Board of Animal Health Veterinarian, will discuss the National Poultry Improvement Plan, talking about how your role as an Authorized Agent is crucial in taking AI test swabs during an AI disease incident in Indiana.

DR. GEOFF LOSSIE DEMONSTRATES AI SWAB TECHNIQUE
In this video, Dr. Geoff Lossie, DVM (formerly with Purdue ADDL) discusses AI Swabbing technique, demonstrating on a chicken and duck. He also goes through the process of placing the sample swabs into the media for proper shipping to the testing laboratory.
DR. MARIA COOPER REVIEWS AI INCIDENT TERMINOLOGY, PREMISES RECORD KEEPING AND CONTROL ZONE MOVEMENT PERMITS
In this video, Dr. Maria Cooper, Indiana Board of Animal Health, discusses some basic terminology used during an AI disease incident. She reviews the importance of keeping accurate premises records and how to submit changes to premises records to IN BOAH and the ISPA. She also shows how to build a premises barcode label sheet for sample submissions. Finally, she reviews the control zone movement permit process.

AI SAMPLE SUBMISSION TO PURDUE ADDL
In this video, Kyle Banaszak reviews how to submit AI Swab samples to Purdue ADDL. He walks through each section of the Commercial Poultry Incident Form and talks about other important ADDL forms as well. He also describes how to properly label the tubes and bags you will be using and how to handle them with biosecurity in mind. He then talks about how to package an AI sample and provides instructions on how to deliver the sample to the lab.
